What to do while you are unemployed
How many hours of the day can you spend searching for a job anyway? Why not take advantage of some of the time you have to do some other things. For me, the more time I think I have, the more time I tend to waste.
So, leave some time for pleasure and play of course. But, try to do something productive. It’s always a good idea to keep in mind what you can add to your resume to fill the gap between employers, right?
So, how about volunteering your time at a non-profit perhaps. It may even help your self-esteem and self-worth, to be doing something to help others. Besides, you might even make some new contacts along the way. Alternatively, consider auditing or taking a class at an alma mater. You might be able to take a class for free particularly if you consult with the instructor in advance. Better still, perhaps you can teach a class. Community colleges and adult education programs are some good places to start.
You never know who may provide the ultimate clue for your next career move. So, keep moving and treat every experience as an opportunity.
